Meet the host and learn what makes The Maverick Show so fundamentally unique and different from other travel podcasts. Matt Bowles introduces himself as a full time world traveler since 2013 and the Maverick Show as a global travel podcast featuring honest, unfiltered conversations with people building lives across cultures and beyond borders. Each Monday you’ll get a new interview recorded somewhere around the world, often over a bottle of wine, exploring the human stories behind global travel and and what those journeys teach us about the world and ourselves. You’ll hear about extraordinary places and the people who live there, but you’ll also hear what it’s really like to move abroad or travel long term, as guests open up about navigating culture, race, power, identity and belonging in an unequal world. These are stories that are funny, moving and deeply human because travel isn’t just movement, it’s its memory, nuance and transformation. If you’ve ever felt that travel changes you in ways that no one talks about, you’re in the right place. About the Guest

Matt Bowles
Matt Bowles is the creator and host of The Maverick Show and has been a full-time world traveler since 2013. Raised Irish-American, he went from hip hop DJ to nonprofit advocate to remote entrepreneur to minimalist world traveler and podcaster. After earning a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, he did activist organizing and solidarity work with a range of struggles for social justice and human rights. Matt eventually became a remote entrepreneur, co-founding Maverick Investor Group as a virtual real estate brokerage that helps people buy cash-flowing U.S. rental properties from anywhere. He left Los Angeles in 2013 and has been slow-traveling the world with carry-on luggage ever since. Matt interviews people for the podcast all over the world, often over a bottle of wine, and approaches each interview with curiosity and care, creating space for real conversations where guests can reflect openly on travel, identity, belonging, and the experiences that shape us when we move through the world.
