This week I’ve been in touch with Colombian friends affected by the earthquake. Below I’ve included a way to support relief efforts in some of the hardest-hit communities.

Colombia Earthquake Relief. The recent devastating earthquake had its epicenter in Chocó, one of Colombia’s poorest and most geographically isolated regions, with a predominantly Black population and significant Indigenous communities as well. Longstanding inequality, limited infrastructure and the remoteness of many communities are making relief efforts especially challenging. You can help by donating to Direct Relief’s Colombia Earthquake Response which is working with Patrulla Aérea Civil Colombiana to deliver medical teams, blood and urgently needed supplies to hard-to-reach communities in Chocó.
