KICKING OFF YOUR WEEK WITH 3 SHORT ITEMS OF VALUE THAT YOU CAN CONSUME IN 60 SECONDS

MEET ME AT LATINO TRAVEL FEST

Join me at Latino Travel Fest in Elizabeth, New Jersey from May 31st to June 2nd, 2024. It’s an annual event to gather, grow, and galvanize the Latino/x community to experience the world and diversify the face of travel. Register Here to Get 15% Off Your Ticket.

1) EVENTS TO ATTEND

VIVIFY. I interviewed Dom Francks on Episode 281 and he is leading a transformative wilderness journey in the High Sierra. If you’re feeling distracted, overwhelmed, or disconnected, this trip is designed to help you become more creative and present, and to develop lasting clarity and vibrant aliveness in your life. The trip has an optional add-on of private coaching before and after to help with preparation and re-integration. Use the Code MAVERICK for $500 Off. See the full itinerary and get all the details here.

2) TRAVEL GEAR I USE

MERINO WOOL BEANIE. This beanie is super thin and lightweight, but it’s merino wool so it keeps my head warm. I permanently store it in the pocket of my compressible jacket so it takes up no additional space. It works perfectly as a winter hat in moderately cold climates. If I’m in an extremely cold climate (like when I ski all day, or when I hiked to the glacial summit of Mount Kilimanjaro), I just rent a thicker ultra-warm hat to wear over the top of this beanie and use two layers. Check out the the merino wool beanie and all my travel gear here.

3) EXPERIENCES

HABASHA COFFEE CEREMONY. In Ethiopia and Eritrea, a core cultural custom is the routine of serving coffee for the purpose of getting together with relatives, friends, or other visitors. Ethiopia is widely regarded as the global birthplace of coffee, and the Habasha coffee ceremony includes special rituals for preparation, brewing and pouring. Here I am attending one in the business class lounge of the Addis Ababa airport in Ethiopia, but this special ceremony can often be found at Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants around the world.

Did you Listen to Last Week’s Episode of The Maverick Show?

Last week I interviewed Dom Francks about how to overcome distraction, overwhelm, and disempowerment to become more present, creative, courageous and wild. Dom talks about the importance of connecting more deeply with nature and gives tips on how busy people in urban areas can start doing that immediately. He also talks about his VIVIFY Regenerative Leadership Program, and explains the unique benefits of merging wilderness immersion with leadership coaching. Listen to the episode on your favorite platform here.
