1) EVENTS TO ATTEND

MOMMY & ME – JAMAICA TRIP. I interviewed Kameko Rooks from “Let’s Just Bring the Kids” on Episode 258 who organizes incredible small group trips for moms and their kids. The next one is June 27th – July 1st, 2024 in Jamaica! You’ll immerse in the rhythmic beats of reggae, the tantalizing flavors of Jamaican cuisine, and the warmth of the Caribbean sun. From catamaran tours to bamboo rafting, you’ll see everything from the lush rainforests to the legendary beaches. Meko custom designed this as an all-inclusive trip so both moms and kids can have a fun, safe, relaxing adventure that they will always remember. See the detailed itinerary and reserve your spot here.

2) TRAVEL GEAR I USE

THE “LIBERTAD” MEN’S BUTTON DOWN SHIRT is made from 100% merino wool and it’s my favorite shirt. Ninety percent of my entire travel wardrobe is made out of merino wool due to it’s unique (seemingly magical) travel-conducive properties: It’s temperature regulating, biodegradable, anti-microbial, and does not retain odor! The Libertad shirt looks and feels incredible, so I wear it all the time–for dressy events, casual days around town, and even when I deliver keynote speeches on stage. Check out the Libertad Men’s Button Down Shirt and All my Travel Gear.

3) WHAT TO READ

VAGABONDING: AN UNCOMMON GUIDE TO THE ART OF LONG TERM WORLD TRAVEL. This is a classic book by legendary travel writer Rolf Potts, which I read before my full-time digital nomad journey began. It not only got me excited about long-term slow travel, but it helped get me in the right mindset for how to experience the world (and contribute to it) as I move through it. If you have not yet read this yet, I highly recommend you pick it up. It’s available anywhere books are sold or you can listen to the audio book with a free trial of Audible here.

Did you Listen to Last Week’s Episode of The Maverick Show?

Last week I interviewed Juky Lee who shared stories of living with a Mayan community in Belize, being pulled over by narcotraficantes in Mexico, working as a photographer for an extreme tour company, and writing a travel guide for the Yukutan in Korean. She opens up about finding love in the digital nomad lifestyle and the impact of 6 years of full-time world travel. Finally, she shares some budget travel hacks and some great ways to build meaningful connections with people around the world and across cultures. Listen to the episode on your favorite platform here.
