2) TRAVEL APPS I USE

GOOGLE TRANSLATE has been incredible for traveling to countries where I don’t speak the language. I can type or speak what I want to say in English, and have it immediately translated into text or voice in the local language. I can also take a picture of a foreign language sign, upload the picture to the app, and have it translated into English. It also has a real-time scanning feature where I can hold my phone’s camera over a menu at a restaurant and the app will translate the text for me as I scan up and down the menu! I could not imagine traveling without this app. Download it on Apple or Android.

3) DESTINATIONS

HUACACHINA, PERU is a small village built around a desert lake in southwestern Peru. It is a beautiful oasis in the desert, surrounded by sand dunes on all sides. You can take dune buggy rides that will zip you through the sand and over the dunes on vehicles known locally as ‘areneros’. You can also sand-board down the dunes! The landscape is incredible, and it’s a super fun experience, which I highly recommend for any trip to Peru.
