Buried in the tight dark space, Farha’s only connection to the outside world is a hole in the wall and a few cracks in the door. HOW MEN CAN CREATE A SAFER WORLD FOR WOMEN TRAVELERS is an article by Mari Monsalve (who I interviewed on eps 348 and 349) where she reflects on her personal experience of being sexually harassed while traveling solo. She critiques how society unfairly places the burden of safety on women, who must navigate a constant fear of assault using behavior modifications, rather than addressing root causes.
