THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB is an award-winning docudrama that uses the actual emergency call of six-year-old Hind Rajab when she was trapped in her family’s car in Gaza, surrounded by the bodies of her dead relatives, after it was repeatedly fired on by Israeli tanks.  She pleads for hours to the Palestine Red Crescent Society to save her, but the rescuers themselves are targeted and killed along with Hind. Its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival provoked a 23-minute standing ovation and won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize. This film names names, bears witness to the deliberate killing of a child, and forces viewers to confront the moral collapse revealed when a little girl’s last words echo unanswered across the world.  Watch the Trailer.

In Part 2 of this interview, Imani Bashir tells stories about living in China, Poland, Malaysia and Mexico.  She reflects on raising her son across multiple countries, her commitment to collective liberation, her role as Co-Director at Resist, how her politics and activism are intertwined, and how she maintains long-term activist stamina despite feeling overwhelmed.  She shares tips on raising socially conscious kids, standing in solidarity with oppressed groups, and offers specific advice to Black and Muslim women travelers.
