The story shows how segregation, anti-Blackness, and class disparities shaped the lives and legacies of these artists, turning their music into both cultural treasure and political testimony. The show becomes a reclamation of voice and history—honoring the artists while confronting the systems that sought to erase them. Last week I dropped part 2 of my interview with Phil Marcus where he tells the story of the incredible kindness he received when he needed help in Pakistan.  He then talks about crashing a wedding in Guinea, what makes Algeria is so special, and why he feels Constantine is the most beautiful city in Africa.  After completing 300 scuba dives Phil names his top 3 scuba destinations in the world.
